Lantronix Provisioning Manager¶
Lantronix Provisioning Manager application is a free utility program provided by Lantronix that discovers, configures, upgrades, and manages Lantronix devices. It also provisions and registers devices directly to Percepxion, bypassing the Percepxion "add device" operation.
It can be downloaded from the Lantronix website at https://www.lantronix.com/products/lantronix-provisioning-manager/.
For instructions on using the Lantronix Provisioning Manager, please see the online help.
Installing Lantronix Provisioning Manager¶
- Download the latest version of Lantronix Provisioning Manager.
- In most cases, you can extract the application from the archive and run the executable. For quick setup instructions, refer to the Lantronix Provisioning Manager online help.
Registration Methods with Percepxion¶
Lantronix Provisioning Manager supports the following methods to register devices with Percepxion:
- Automatically provision the Device ID and register the devices to Percepxion.
- Manually provision the Device ID and separately register the devices to Percepxion.
- Generate a device list file and separately register the devices to Percepxion.
The automatic registration method is recommended. The manual process is used if you you do not have direct network access to Percepxion, or if you wish to add devices using the "bulk import" method in Percepxion.
To register devices, you need to have a Percepxion account with Admin permissions (Admin role), and the host name of the Percepxion server (if it has been modified from the default).
Discovering Devices¶
To discover devices, you need the IP range if the device is on a different subnetwork from the machine that is running Lantronix Provisioning manager software.
- Launch Lantronix Provisioning Manager.
- If this is the first time you are launching the application, you may need to proceed through an initial setup.
- Locate the device in the device list. The device's firmware version, serial number, IP address, and MAC address will be displayed. You can view additional device information by clicking the three dot menu and selecting Get Device Info.
- To perform operations on the device, click the checkbox next to the device and select an operation from the actions at the top.
